I unlocked the door and waited for Lola to come, I checked my watch, 8:07 it read. I decided to work on some homework, and curl up with a book.

Lola's keys jingled in the keyhole, as she stepped in in her usual trendy self. This time she was wearing a red, cap-sleeved top, a shiny, leather jacket, a pair of red skinny jeans, and black heels. Her long, loose brown hair was left down, and was unruly as usual.

"Late, as usual!" I exclaimed,seeing her  rushing to the bathroom to change into her PJs.

I smiled to myself and looked at myself in the mrror, I was wearing a long sleeved shirt with India's flag on it, and green sweatpants with my name embroidered on the pocket. These were my field hockey cover up pants. My blackish brown hair was straightened and in a bun.

"I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!!" She yelled making a grand entrance.

"Lolz, you are one crazy girl you know that. Or as my mom says at home, "Tum botth paghal hei." I said .

"Yeah well, I just bought these new PJs. Like?" She asked.

I nodded, my eyes wide, they were cute. They were a cream colored satin pant-and-top set, with a purple stiched "L" in cursive on the breast pocket.

"I just knew youwould adore them, so I bought you a set too!" She said, handing me the PJs.

They were the best, silk like hers, except white with a cursive "D" in orange and green.

"Lola!!!! Thank you so much!" I practically screamed. "What is your dad, a king?" I asked.

"Actually, he kinda is..." She said softly.

"WHAT?! Your father is a king?! Of where?!" I yelled.

"A small island country near Italy." She said.

"And you never told me! Look at all of this, thats why you're super rich?!" I shot at her.

"Deev, I only didn't tell you because too many people freak out. I want to be known as the crazy, late Lola that you love, not the regal, fancy ballgown wearing one!" he replied.

"I understand, but you never told me?!" Why?!!" I asked.

"Its just a big secret. Promise you won't tell?" She asked, smiling with that face that I immeadiatly always say yes to.

"Fine. Lets order pizza." I sighed dialing the number.

Hi girls!

 

At my high school , we have a cool thing every year called "30 Hour Famine". Basically it's an event to raise money for starving children all around the world through World Vision. As it sounds, it's all about not eating ANYTHING for 30 hours, and giving whatever you would have spent on food that day and a half to World Vision, plus more. You can also raise more money, and give that as well, which is what I want to do!

 

Our "30 Hour Famine" is from April 16-17, and it works like this:

On Thursday at midnight (Yes, technically it's Friday) you stop eating. Then on Friday you don't eat anything from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed. After school you go home for a couple of hours, and then come back to the school for a huge awake-a-thon in the Gym, where repersentitives from World Vision are coming to talk to us, we're watching movies, playing games, and generally raising awareness about famine, and how blessed we are to live in a country with more then enough food.

 

If a "30 Hour Famine" sounds like something that you might like to do, bring it up with your teacher or principal, anyone in middle school, junior high, or high school can hold one at their school with the help of World Vision, and you can even get reps from there to come and talk to you guys! It's a great event to raise money for a great cause, and I think I'm going to have a great time at my first "30 Hour Famine". Disasters happen all the time. Like, for instance, The earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010 lasted about 35 seconds. Weeks of improbable rescues, tearful reunions and astonishing displays of resilience followed. Looking out over Haiti from his balcony, a man said he "Saw The Earth Shaking, Dust Covering The Area, and Fires Breaking Out." Another Witness Of The Quake Said, "Within 15 blocks of my destroyed home, I saw over 100 people dead on the street." Now, in my opinion, that’s horrid. My friends and I have been earning money for Haiti. I know, most people would be like, "Eh, its over, who cares?" But its NOT OVER. Families and people have been struggling all this time. No food, water, shelter, books, toys, ANYTHING! So, my friends and I earned money so that we can send it in to Haiti. We sent some money in a couple of weeks ago, and we all feel good because we know some family or kid out there just got a bowl of soup, or a bottle of water. I think we all should try and earn money for Haiti.  People are struggling out there, girls! Please be generous and try to help. Thank-You.

I loved the superbowl, but Peyton Manning, what was he thinking? He kept missing to throw the ball! BESIDES, The colts missed so many field goals! The saints....wow! GARRETT HARTLEY Is the most loved field goal kicker! Not to mention E! stars were there. Those stars you ask? KIM KARDASHIAN AND KENDRA WILKSION-BASKETT! Not to bag on the Colts, I mean they are a pretty good team, But what about that score?! You should of seen everyone in LOUISIANA, I mean EVEN TO TODAY...EVERYONE IS STILL SHOCKED. Now back to the colts, I love them and all they are a decent team. But you get my point, right? Oh! Here is some news on the Saints: SCOTT FUJITA LEFT THE SAINTS TO GO TO THE CLEVELAND BROWNS. 2) Rinsing your hair with cool vinegar oil makes it shine! It may stink, but the smell goes out quickly after you comb through your hair. If it doesn't, then you might have used a little too much. Just use as much as you think you should, it depends on how rough your hair looks.

3) Don't blow-dry your hair. That causes more split ends and also burns your hair. For more beautiful less puffy hair, let it air dry!

4) A really good shampoo that I recommend is Pantene. This makes your hair really shiny!

School Tip Of The Week:

When you're sick, you can't go to school. You probably think, "OMG! NO SCHOOL, NO WORK!!!" Then you lay in bed and the thought comes to you, "Well, what about all of the important homework that's due today? What about that project that is due tomorrow? Will I get an "F"???" If you follow these steps, this won't be such a big mess:

1) ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, write down your homework in a notebook or planner, etc. This keeps you organized but also keeps you up-to-date on things like homework and school projects. Let's say your teacher writes down all of the homework you need for the week  on the board on a Monday. You go to school Monday-Wednesday but get sick on Thursday and can't go to school. Well, if you write down the homework for the whole week and bring your books home with you, you can easily finish it and bring it to school the next day if you are feeling better. If your teacher doesn't write down the homework for the whole week, you're still in luck...as long as you have a really good friend! Call your friend in the morning before school and tell her/him that you are sick and you need her/him to bring your homework to your house. Ask her/him nicely and I bet he/she wouldn't mind. If you really really trust your friend and you have a locker with all of your books in it, giver her/him your locker combination so he/she can get your books out. You can also stop by your school sometime and pick up your homework from the office. Some teachers write down the homework and send it to the office so one of your parents can come and get it. So see? No stress, even if you don't get your homework, your teacher should understand that you were sick or absent and you can make up your work. It may not sound fun but, hey, it's better than getting a big fat "0", right?
