I love Lady Gaga and she is a role model, I do admit, she used to be a bad gurrl but now she is less of a bad gurrl, she is a nice woman, (yes a WOMAN!), when she was younger she was very goal orriented, and was very studious. Now, she is living her main goal that she had, to become a singer. She writes all of her songs, and is the REAL her in public and private... she is GAGA. The reason I consider her a role model, is because she, lives her dream everyday, is the REAL her and not what people want her to be, was very about school and making good grades, and turning stuff in on time (which is a good thing :). I want to be just like her, she is just amazing and i love her shock art...mainly her fashion, she is like a living catwalk. I just love her, She is an amazing woman and thats it... :)

Okay so at lunchtime during school i overheard my friends talking about something. Now if you dont beleive in the devil or god or any of that then you might as well give up on reading this blog. But anyways, they were saying how famous celebs are devil worshippers. Apparently alot of my friends knew about it but im not sure, okay i do beleive in god and stuff like that but seriously dont you think this is going abit too far? Cause i do. To be honest i dont exactly beleive in the 'devil'. But just for the fun of it and to kill bordom i decided to do a bit of research about it. So I'm pretty much in love with the song "Sellout" by never shout never. I've been listening to it a lot. It's a sad song. I love the lyrics. They are so amazing. I just love Christofer Drew Ingle. He writes meaningful songs. Anyways, the line, I'm sick of imagery, instead of artistry means a lot to me. Lately, the music that we hear on the radio is becoming less and less about talent and more and more about image. People take people like Kesha because she's pretty, get her into a studio and record some stuff. They autotune it all and make it sound better. But people like it because it sounds good. Sure, it does sound good, but it lacks talent. It's so digitally engineered. They take songs and make them sound so good when without all the special effects, they would be very good. More of the, hardcoreish bands have special effects done on their screaming in the songs and they end up not being able to scream that well on their own so it sounds crappy live. I just wish people would make their music more original and have less digital effects and such. Christofer Drew is a really good example of someone that doesn't care what people think. Sure, people are in love with how he looks. But the fans that don't care about what he looks like, care about what he stands for. He writes his own lyrics and they having meaning to them. His music isn't typical stuff you hear on the radio and I love that. He makes it clear what he stands for and he doesn't care weather people like him for it. He plays most of the instruments in the recordings of his songs. I just love that he is something so unique and I wish more artists were like him. Did their own things, not what their producers wanted them to do. There's a lot of horrible music on the radio nowadays that people listen to. If you listen to half the songs on the radio, and I mean really listen, to the lyrics, they aren't meaningful at all. That's a big thing music is usually lacking recently. Meaning. Sure, there are bands and singers out there that write songs with meaning but the majority of what's the most popular barely has any. Anyways, hope you guys get what I'm trying to say. Also, you should all go listen to "Sellout" by never shout never. It's an amazing song. Listen to the lyrics. They're really touching :)

So the video for the Mine by Taylor Swift is absolutely amazing :) I love that she not only sings, but also acts as the main female character of the video's storyline. Unlike how most people cast people to play the characters. I also love the lyrics. Taylor's acting was so good in the video too. It's a great video! So, 10 days until school. I really don't wanna go back. But I'm glad I'll be going into highschool. It's going to be so much better. All my friends are scared to go to highschool. I just don't understand. I don't like school either way, but I'd much rather be going to highschool. I really really really don't want to go back though. I love the song Sellout by Never Shout Never. It makes me sad. The lyrics are so sad. But they are so amazing. I love it. Christofer Drew Ingle is just pure amazing. Summer has gone by way too quickly two months goes tooo fast. I hate it. How were your summers? Ahhhh!

Hey(:

So I've been listening to alot of good music lately, some of it is kinda old but never really got popular. So I wanna share it with you!

I find the music guides to all the episodes of "Pretty Little Liars" (L-O-V-E that show!!!) and that show has some pretty flippin' good music!

"Icarus" By: White Hinterland, it's really weird sounding, I know but the song is amazing! I'm not entirely sure what genre it is... but it's cooool! It's played at the end of "The Homecoming Hangover" (Episode) at the part where "A" is taking the papers from the river.

"Siempre Tu" By: Diego Boneta, Yep! That the extremely sexy guy in the picture above ^_^ I just had to post it. It's amazing. You might reconize him as Alex Santiago (Spencer's Boyfriend) on "Pretty Little Liars" well he also happens to be a mexican singer and songwriter. If you wanna find the rest of his music on iTunes, you have to search by Diego Gonzalez. You hear this song playing in "The Homecoming Hangover" when he and Spencer are dancing in the kitchen.

"Where I Stood" By: Missy Higgins, it's a slow, sad love song. But I love singing along to it, and I'm trying to learn it on piano. This song is played right after "Siempre Tu" in th "The Homecoming Hangover" during the part where Aria is depressed, and Emily drives by Toby's house and see's Jenna crying.

Featured both in "There's No Place Like Homecoming" and "The Homecoming Hangover" is the band 2AM Club. I took some time to check out there music, and they're really good! One of my favorite songs is "Worry About You"

 

Some other songs I've been listening to include "The Great DJ" By: The Ting Tings. It's a pretty old song, but they were playing a remix of it on the radio and I knew I had heard it somewhere, so I looked it up and viola! This catchy song! I had heard it in a hair product commercial. Lol. I also just watched the music video for Taylor Swift's "Mine" on mtv.com. IT WAS SO SWEET! It had me tearing up, hehe. I love the line "Braced myself for goodbye, 'cuz that's all I've ever known." I was AWWW! Another song I'm totally hooked on is "Secrets" By: OneRepublic. It's so powerful(:

[I know, I know. Most people don't like my music. But I'm almost sure you'll love these guys.]

Automatic Eye is a rather new Finnish pop-rock band, formed in late 2005. The official band consists of Pete and Heikki, although two other members join them for tours. Their first single, "Away From Sunshine", was released in 2008, shortly followed by their debut studio album, Don't Let the Past Come Between You and Your Happiness.Earlier this year, they released their second album, Zen, featuring the tracks "Calling on Angels" and "Sleep with the Enemy". According to Pete and Heikki, Automatic Eye is "probably the happiest band in the world", influenced by such American pop-rock greats as Fall Out Boy, Anberlin, and Jimmy Eat World, as well as bearing striking similarities to bands such as Deep Insight, Madina Lake, and Private Line.

Ingrid Law, Newberry Award Winning Author, is back with another thrilling adventure from the Beaumont family! Scumble, the companion book to her first novel Savvy,is now in stores. With the release of Scumble last week, Ms. Law was so kind to take the time to answer my questions for all of you!

Ingrid shares her own embarrassing 'back to school' story (let me tell you it's worth a read), where she gets the ideas for all those awesome “Savvy” talents, her favorite tall tale, and MORE! Read on for this interview crammed with creativity!

GL:Gina L. IL: Ingrid Law

GL: In your latest book, Scumble,we fast forward nine years to the story of Mibs's cousin Ledge.  Did you enjoy writing from a boy's perspective?
IL:I did enjoy it. Ledge was fun to write. But I also enjoyed creating some great new girl characters to balance out the book. Gypsy Beaumont was only three years old inSavvy. But inScumble, Gypsy is twelve (almost thirteen) and readers will get to know her better, as well as be introduced to the twin cousins mentioned briefly inSavvy—the girls who got their savvy levitation talents at five years old, and are now fourteen. There is also a nosy thirteen year old girl named Sarah Jane who has her own newspaper and threatens to discover and expose the family’s secrets.

GL: When you first wroteSavvydid you intend for a companion book to follow?
IL: Not initially, no. Though by the time I was done with all the revisions to the book, I knew I wanted to write another one.

GL:Savvys aren't your average super powers, what inspires your characters' unique talents?
IL:I wanted to pick powers for my main characters that would reflect the things they need to discover most about themselves as they grow up. Mibs, inSavvy, learns to trust her own voice instead of all the others she hears inside her head. Ledge, inScumble, needs to learn how to cope when he feels like everything is falling apart—and while everything IS actually falling apart—all around him. I also wanted to give the powers a tall-tale feel and sense of American magic.

GL: When did you first discover your passion for writing?
IL:I’ve always loved making up stories in my head, but I did not start writing many of those stories down until I was older. I wrote my first novel-length work when I was in college. I was taking a detective fiction class and it inspired me to write my own mystery, one with a feisty female detective as the main character. That was the first time I became really excited about writing.

GL: When you aren't writing enchanting adventures what is your favorite pastime?
IL: When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me doing something else that involves stories: reading, going to the movies, listening to audio books or to music. I also love to sew—especially costumes and artistic fiber creations. This summer, I’ve been trying my hand at amigurumi (Japanese crocheted animals and figures) and have managed to make a few cute mice, but my attempts at other creatures have turned out woefully lumpy and lopsided, or squished and pathetically scrunchy. Even so, I find it fun and my failed attempts make me laugh.

GL: If you weren't an author what career would you pursue?
IL:I’d love to be a word archeologist if there is such a thing: a historical linguist—an Indiana Jones of language, traveling the world and having adventures while looking for lost and precious vocabulary words buried in gold boxes. I can’t help it, I’m a total word-nerd. Though, I might shy away from such a profession if I had to navigate through spider webs and snakes.

GL: Growing up what was your favorite Tall/Fairy Tale?
IL: I remember listening to the storyThe Steadfast Tin Soldier and finding it terribly, hauntingly, terrifically tragic. Perhaps I liked it because the Tin Soldier is not a perfect prince. He is flawed, a toy made with only one leg. But often it is imperfection that makes a character most interesting—the most human—even if that character is just a tin toy who falls in love with a paper ballerina.

GL: Something make-believe you wish were real?
IL:House elves! But I’d be really good to mine, setting them free in hopes that they’d come back to cook and clean for me. Or animal familiars. I’d love to have some mystical animal that would always be with me as a companion and protector.

GL: It's back to school time!  Do you have any advice or tips to share with us?  Could you divulge your own embarrassing school story?
IL:Summer can provide the space and time to reinvent oneself, to start fresh with new styles and attitudes at the beginning of the school year. It can be fun to play around with different looks and mindsets, but always remember to be true to yourself and your values, and to know who your real friends are—the ones who will stick by you no matter what you look like, what you do, or what you wear—friends who like you simply for who you are.

My first day of seventh grade was pretty embarrassing. I had hoped to reinvent myself over the summer and surprise everyone with a new hairstyle… Unfortunately, I was talked into letting my grandmother give me a home perm. It turned out awful! Completely frizzy and tangled all the time! And there was nothing I could do (aside from shaving my head) to fix it. It was not the look I’d been hoping for. That was a really nice day to have a best friend who lied to me and told me that my hair looked fine, even as the boy I had a crush on made fun of me. I still keep in touch with that friend to this very day.

GL: If you could invite 3 people to dinner (living or dead) who would they be and why?
IL:That’s a hard question! I’m torn between who would be the most interesting and who would be the most fun. But I’m thinking that a dinner with William Shakespeare, Jack Black, and Annie Oakley could be nothing but memorable (and maybe a little rowdy).

GL: Secretly, in the back of your mind have you ever thought of writing a vampire story?
IL:Vampires? No. But I have tried to imagine what might happen if a mermaid was bitten by a werewolf. I never stop my imagination from getting silly.

When we initially told you aboutMiley Cyrus'new movie, we had an idea that her character would a handful, but now we know that the 17-year-old will play Lola, a rebellious teen, who gets into more than her fair share of trouble.

After the script forLOL: Laughing Out Loudleaked this week, it was revealed that Miley's character loses her virginity, smokes marijuana, locks lips with another girl, gets drunk and ends up showing her mom one of her, um, private parts. Who knew that the Disney star's current album 'Can't Be Tamed' would be a clue to what her upcoming role would be like?

Obviously, the role is nothing like what Miley was doing in her 'Hannah Montana' days, but after playing the lead in The Last Song and releasing her edgy CD, it seems like the teen sensation is really trying to let everyone know that she's growing up. "She's great, and I think that she is incredibly grounded," Miley's LOL co-star, Demi Moore, toldMTV.

My opinion: Dear God, girl! You're only seventeen, you're hardly an adult & this movie lowers your maturity points even more. Come one, so many little girls look up to you as a Hannah Montana 'dream.' What the heck happened to your song The Climb? The lyrics in that song were powerful, but now they mean nothing. You blew it. I know a lot of the teens out there are going to like Miley even more because she is doing more crazy things, but I think she just lost a few hundred more fans...If they have common sense. She realizes that her fan numbers are dropping lower & lower, & she is doing this freaky stuff to get more of an 'adult' following. She's attracting the older crowd...& all the while I am thinking 'where the heck is her freaking father?!' I can't believe that Tish Cyrus is allowing this to happen, too. I was shocked. But then what can you expect? BREAKING NEWS! I don't know if you guys heard but... the Raven-Symone, will be featuring in a episode of Sonny With A Chance starring Demi Lovato & Sterling Knight!! How exciting! I know that we were all upset when we heard "Thats So Raven" got cancelled. We were all super happy when she guessed starred in Suite Life of Zack & Cody but it just wasn't the same. This will be no different (I think) than the others but its been a couple of years since she's appeared! I'm excited!! How about you guys? What was/is your favorite cancelled show on Disney Channel?
