Well yesterday i was in my beach clubs talent show and it was aawesome! There were 20 acts and i was second to last (which i was happy about) I did my hip-hop dance and my hip hop dance is like a bollywood dance and i have to say i ROCKED IT! I tried my hardest like i do in every dance.... and just to let u guys know im a dancer! Its my life and PASSION!

      Also when i got off stage everyone complimented me and said i was the best. And my friends were first pumping and saying "Go Alexa!" And these girls said i wish i could move my body like u can. And they wanted me to show them how to dance. So i just started dancing in the middle of a huge crowd with a bunch of my friends. I was doing some belly dancing because that was part of my dance. Lol yea ik wat ur thinking...im crazy, and its true im a crazy party animal but i love that about me :)

Well right now im boored and u know i want one guy to tell me im beautiful when im a complete mess.... Well COMMENT!

haha see what i did there ^? anyways, i was at a school dance with the guy i like, conner, and every time i got close to him, he kinda backed away. im not the kind of person who just stands there when something like that happens, so i asked him about it.he told me to follow him and he took me to this quiet place where no one was. here was our conversation:
me: Why did you take me out  here? conner: because it's quiet and i wanted to tell you something... me: yeah. anything... conner: well... i'm kinda nervous so how about i whisper it to you? me: yeah that sounds alright.
and that is when he said "I've wanted to tell you all night how much i wanted to kiss you".Then, he kissed me on my cheek.i just couldn't stop smiling!then we kissed like, on the lips!it was fantastic!and for those of you that haven't been following my blogs, i got over the other guys i liked really quickly after i found out how much of a jerk they were... AND WE ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER! lol

What kind of dancing do you do?

i do jazz dancing. its really fun. this year i got my intermediate bronze medal and have switched to American jazz which is harder. We get to wear cool costumes and do exams and medal tests. we perform on stage at the end of the year too. its really weird having all of these people stare at u. we do bar work and floor work. two dances and practice combinations. We have these ugly black shoes ugh! and the hall is real cold in winter. thats about the only thing about it thats blah. I want to do hip hop. i saw these girls from my dance school do it last year and i thought it was real cool.

Hey AK Girls! This is a follow up to my blog 'I was an extra in a movie!'... That movie's called A Dance For Grace and it's won a ton of awards while touring film festivals. So, what's it about? Well according to www.adanceforgrace.com:  "A Dance For Grace tells the story of a group of teenagers from Marthasville, Georgia - who decide to enter a national dance contest, hoping to use the prize money to fund a life saving operation for one of their town’s most beloved citizens - a woman named Grace. Their quest leads them to their Jamaican born dance teacher - a former drug dealer named Ricky Myers - who teaches them a reggae/dancehall routine for the contest. To experience the culture and learn the dance firsthand, the group travels to the birthplace of reggae, Jamaica. But as the contest draws closer, the competition gets fierce and the stakes get even higher! Personal demons must be conquered. And then…the dance is on…. to save Grace! Set to the pulsating beats of Jamaican dancehall, A Dance for Grace is an exciting, uplifting, fast moving tale of courage, redemption, community and the will to succeed against all odds!!" This movie is unlike anything i've ever seen before- and that's a good thing! The unlikely heros to a cancer patient are a group of high school dancers. It's not your everyday super hero, dancing or high school movie. It's got a bit of everything.  I caught up with Orville Matherson who plays Rick Myers - the dance teacher in the film, he was also a producer. " My favorite part was taking the entire cast and crew to Jamacia. We had to step up our game because we had a short window of time to get all the shooting done- two weeks!" They managed, but shooting a movie is not easy! What was the hardest part? Well in a word Orville says... "Everything! One thing is guarenteed, everything is going to go wrong! The success of a shoot is based on how you deal with it." So for anyone who's ever dreamed of working on a movie either as a crew member behind the scenes or in front of the camera, listen up!  Orville told me a story about how an actor from NYC was taking a train into Connecticut to shoot. There was a certain amount of time to film the scene and the actor accidentally took the train to the town Milford instead of where the filming was taking place in New Milford! They got the scene done though after getting a taxi to drive that actor over to the right place which took a substantial amount of time and money. What's learned? " You never know when something's going to pop up." Remember, it's all about how you handle the situation at hand.  What was it like for Orville to act both as a cast and crew member? It's common for smaller projects such as this one, he explained- adding "sometimes it can be very challenging but I wouldn't change it for the world." That level of passion and dedication is important for success. Add a little ambition and luck and the world is yours!  When I saw the movie at the first connecticut screening it wasn't completely finished. I still enjoyed it though, and hopefully the surveys everyone filled out will help with the editing process. " I like the way it came out" Orville admitted, " but there's lots of things that need to be done in post production."  I also got the chance to get to know Junior Powell who is a partner to Orville for Tower Isle Productions. Junior who penned the movie while living in Indiana tells what inspired it. " It's a dream. It's all about people getting used to different ideas customs and people." This particular script was chosen to be produced because it was low budget. There was nothing blowing up or plane crashes or anything like that, everything was very doable.  Junior left me with this " A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into it but in the end it's entertainment. It's all worth it if just one person comes up to me and says 'I enjoyed it'." I chimed in " I enjoyed it!"  What do you think of the concept of the movie?  Hey chicas! Ya know what an AMV is (if ya don't then read on!!!)? AMV means anime music video! And I know 2 AMVs by heart! For example, there are fanmade ones, and there are those dances that appear in the beginning or end of your fav anime. I follow the 2nd option! I know Hare Hare Yukai, a VERY famous anime dance from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and I know the opening theme dance of Lucky Star by heart! I'm NOT bragging, I hate to brag, I'm just saying that if you want to have fun with your anime buddies, just dance! I'm also trying to learn the Miku Miku dance. Ya know, Hatsune Miku from vocaloids? Yeah, she has a dance! It's not that famous but it's still easyish! I also want to learn Jamba's dance party (it's a complicated AMV) from One Piece, a very cool anime! Also, if ya want to AT LEAST know 2 VERY easy dances that require just about no strength, just go to youtube and search for caramelldansen (most popular dance EVER!) and paffendorf (really cute!)!
 Now for Haruhi news- OMG!!! GUESS WHAT?!? The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya English dub is OUT NOW!!! It came out yesterday and they're sold out on amazon!

Lauren Froderman may have taken home the win on Thursday night's finale of "So You Think You Can Dance," but her upcoming schedule will offer her little time to celebrate.

The bubbly contemporary jazz dancer from Phoenix will soon hit the road and reunite with fellow finalists Kent Boyd and Robert Roldan for the live "SYTYCD" tour, which will kick-off Sept.19 in New Orleans and end in Glendale, Ariz. on Nov. 17.

The 40-city road trip will also include a mix of Season 7 contestants: Adechike Torbert, Ashley Galvan, Billy Bell, Jose Ruiz as well as a few All Stars, including, Ade Obayommi, Allison Holker, Courtney Courtney, Dominic Sandoval and Kathryn McCormick. Also joining the dancing fun is Season 6 winner Russell Ferguson .

In addition to being crowned as "America's Favorite Dancer" and pocketing a $250,000 cash prize, Froderman will get the added honor of being featured as Gatorade's first dance athlete in Gatorade's G Series advertising campaign this fall and will also appear on the cover of Dance Spirit magazine.

A recent high school graduate, Froderman, 18, wowed the judges and viewers with her ability to pick up other dance styles, effortlessly taking on hip-hop, ballroom and Bollywood routines throughout the seventh season.

Yep! You read the title right! This competition is like 'Project Runway' for prom! This competition is for high schoolers who have to make their prom dresses and tuxes out of duck-tape! This is how the competition works,There are the votes to decide who is in and who is out. This couple in the picture had the most votes for their prom attire! Their names are  Ray Banna and Yancy Esquivel  They are from Mesquite High School in Arizona.they had the winning designs that scored the most votes, earning them $3,000 each in scholarship money and $3,000 for their high school. This is not a shabby prize at all! for all the hard work they put into it, they have definitely earned this scholarship! Yancy did the drawing and the sewing for the attire and Ray made a Facebook campaign to gather votes. It took 300 hours and 30 rolls of duck-tape to create these works of art.

Competition was, um, sticky: The Duck® brand duct tape Stuck at Prom® Scholarship Contest requires competitors to make their prom wear entirely out of the multicolored, highly durable stuff.  Who would guess that something used for household repairs could look, well, so un-tape like.

Over 240 couples from 43 states and six Canadian provinces entered. WOW! This is how it worked, once up to the top 10 contestants, a five-week voting period came, then they eliminated the couple with the least amount of votes each week. 44,000 votes were cast in the competition.

Congratz to the winners! You've made great designs!

 my butt hurts for sitting in a chair for 16 hours straight in a day for three days. does that make sense?? i hope it does. man im SUPER tired.

 your probably wondering, "how can she be tired when she sits in a chair all day?" well the answer is is that i didnt get enough sleep. first night, 6 hours. second, 4 hours. third, 6 1/2 hours.

 im going to bed early tonight. like way early. lol!
