The Pros: Video games come in different styles, and yes, a lot of them are pretty violent and mostly aimed for boys, there are some games that help kids - and adults! - learn. Most of the games on the Nintendo DS are educational with titles like Brain Ageand game versions of popular trivia TV shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?and 1 vs 100, and games to help with ABCs and 123s for younger children. The Nintendo Wii, a very popular game system, enables its players to bethe controller, so it's excercise for the people who "don't like to excercise"Nintendo has stated. As you can see, Nintendo is a very popular gaming company. The Wii and the DSi (a more advanced version of the DS) were the Top 2 gaming systems sold as of last year, a Nintendo source stated. So, sometimes, video games can help us every day!

The Cons:While video games may help educate people, it's not the same as really hitting the books. A recent study has shown that most of the children who play video games longer than 30 minutes a day later had problems with their eyes, sometimes even blinding them if played toolong! Now, I'm not necassarily against video games, but I feel that there are too many war games! I have an Xbox 360 myself, and it is very hard to find games that don't have the words "death", "destruction", or "destroy" on the cover. Video games might be able to help us at times, but when playing video games that are violent, may just help our brains rotmore than learnmore!

What do YOU think the pros and cons of video games are? Leave a comment telling me what you think!

And, oh yeah! Before I forget: also in your comment, tell me if you want to join my online debate team! Every Friday I will post a debate topic and you guys will comment telling us what you think! The winner of the debate every week (she will be chosen by me and my mom) will recieve an icon made by me! :)

Love,

♥Clairexxo

Have you ever read a Nancy Drew book and wished that you could cruise around in Nancy's smart blue roadster, apprehending criminals and helping the innocent? Well, you can when you play as Nancy Drew in Her Interactive's new game, Trail of the Twister.
The Canute University storm-chasing team is competing to find a formula for predicting tornado touchdowns to win $100,000,000! But, somebody or something is sabotaging the teams attempts, setting them back a lot. It's up to you as Nancy Drew to find out who or what is behind the incidents, and put a stop to it! I loved the plot of this game, it was exciting and kept me on my toes!
The characters were all unique and fun. Scott Varnell, the leader of the team, is a grumpy man. Scott is an experienced, knowledgable, tornado chaser, though it seems like he's changed a lot in the past few years. Could he be hiding a secret? Debbie Kircum, the hard-working team manager gives you chores to do for the team. She seems sweet, but it seems like she doesn't like Scott very much. Hmm... Tobias, or "Frosty" Harlow, is the team's full-of-energy media expert. Frosty was one of my favorite characters; he was fun and taught me a lot about clouds! But Frosty seems to be concealing something important. Chase Relerford, the field research assistant, is basically the team's handyman. He's pretty new to the whole tornado chasing thing, and he's just oozing with country charm. Is he really interested in tornados? Or is there something else...? And finally, "Pa." Pa works at Ma n' Pa's general store. He's a sweet old man, but he seems to be lying about something important.
This game was an amazing, immersive experience. I loved the animation and the fun mini games, and the culprit was surprising. I would recommend this game to any tween or teen girl looking for intrigue, adventure, and a great time! By the way, check out Her Interactive's other games (there are a LOT) at http://www.herinteractive.com/index.php Hope you enjoyed this review, and stay twisty! -Emma

After 80 years in the detective biz, you’d think that Nancy Drew was ready to hang up her magnifying glass. But ifHer Interactive’s newest game is any indication, Nancy is firmly committed to living on the edge.

InNancy Drew: Trail of the Twister, the world-famous detective goes undercover with a team of storm-chasing researchers.Nancy’s new friends are competing for a $100,000,000 prize that will be awarded to whomever can work out a foolproof way to predict tornadoes. This meteorological equivalent of the X-Prize is driving somebody to crime. The team is plagued by mysterious equipment failures so Nancy is sent in as a ringer to try to clear away the fog and get the real data. Loosely based on The Mystery of Tornado Alley (Nancy Drew #155), Trail of the Twister presents players with interesting puzzles, intriguing characters and a compelling environment.

Like most of the twenty-one previous entries in the Nancy Drew game series,Trail of the Twister uses 3D pre-rendered backgrounds and animated characters to give life to the story. From the moment Nancy arrives at the farmhouse/base-station players will get to explore a rich and convincing environment while meeting interesting characters and solving challenging puzzles. The first-person view puts the player (literally) in the story and aids in making the action immersive.

For example, as part of her assignment working on the team, Nancy has to file papers according to strange, symbol-based filing system. The instructions are presented in the form of a classic logic puzzle which players solve by manipulating file folders and labels. Although the puzzle isn’t terribly difficult, it serves as a warm-up for the challenges to come. The file folder metaphor gives the puzzle a reason to exist and feels holistically integrated into the storytelling rather than bolted-on. Similarly, another early puzzle challenges players to work out optimal coverage for a storm-warning siren system. Again, the clever us of theme serves to reinforce the game rather than detract from it.

On a larger scale, Nancy also has to solve the mystery and this involves meeting and interacting with a wide variety of interesting characters. The voice acting is surprisingly strong, which serves to punch up the emotional appeal of the game.

Nancy will also learn about tornadoes and get a chance to experience some of the most frightening weather anyone can face. The compelling setting serves as a strong backdrop to the main action of the story.

In a nod to being “player friendly” Trail of the Twister also offers two different difficulty settings - Junior or Senior Detective - to make the action accessible to a wider audience. It also has a “safety net” which will return players to a point before their fatal mistake.

In short,Trail of the Twister is a worthy successor to the previous twenty-one adventures which have sold a total of more than eight million copies. But, in the best tradition of detective stories, Her Interactive has one more trick up its sleeve. Trail of the Twister is the first Nancy Drew game to support the Mac OS.

If you’re a Nancy Drew fan, a mystery fan, or just a fan of a good adventureTrail of the Twister is well worth the $19.99 price tag.

I love the plot for Trail of the Twister, and am planning on buying it ASAP! What about you?

Sending lots of love from an AK Reporter,

Susan

P.S. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday....just 14 more days! :)

Hey there!

Today I will tell you all about clubson Ameba Pico, clubs and clans are really popular on Ameba Pico. There's Pico Girls Club a.k.a PGC, Ruby Moon GIrls a.k.a RMG, Vampire Clan, Geishas, Rainbow Sky Girlsa.k.a RSG, Girls Next Generation a.k.a GNG, Angel Life a.k.a AL, and more!

There's loads of clubs to be honest, running a club isn't hard at first but after you get members you have to entertain them, I might just interview the president of PGC a.k.a Pico GIrls Club. Here's some answers to some questions you might have,

I am new to Ameba Pico, should I still join a club / clan?

Yes, a club / clan can help you meet some people like you and they can answer your questions.

Can I start my own club / clan?

Yes, I started my club when I heard about clubs oon Ameba Pico.

Help! My members are getting bored!

Entertain them, make activities for them, make events for the club so they know it's active. If they are busy find a time that everyone is free and do a reunion.

More questions,ask me!

Hey!

Matsuri is a japanese summer festival for those who don't know, I suggest you to google it for further info.

There's two shops at the Matsuri, Shigeo's shop sells the japanese bon dance action, various water balloon yo-yos, different yukatas, and other stuff.

I personally can't afford a yukata so I just used my blue kimono. I bought myself a blue water balloon yo-yo from Shigeo's shop

R080:Type FES sells sparklers for now, each sparkler lasts a minute, they even have a small countdown thing to remind you how much time you have left. I bought myself the yellow one that has 10 in a set.

This is my first time making a blog for Ameba Picowhich is a game I play, and I might make more in the future. And I will quit writing Snitchvikes since I cannot think of anything, but I will try my best to write these blogs.

And make sure to check this game out and keep checking back for more blogs!!

Please comment!!

I love playing the Nancy Drew games. The latest one, Trail of the Twister, is full of challenging puzzles. You are reintroduced into the driving setting, and the ending is not what you expect.            This one is pretty difficult because of all the brain-teasing puzzles, but it can be exciting because of the stormy weather.            Stop a sabateur (sabatoger) in Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister.

                                                                          Have fun,                                                                        whargarble

am obsessed with the moon and wolves! I just don't get it! I like dark colors, I love the moon and I love wolves!  I'm a bit of a dreamer. When I play online dress up games with my sister, I always play the Gothic and punk and vampire and Gothic Lolita and witch games. I guess most people would see me as a dark person, but what do I care? At least I like me. I also like magic and myths.

I have been a little annoyed lately with the amount of violence in video games. I know a lot of you are smart enough to know it's not real and yada yada but for littler kids it tends to make them more violent! My 5 year old cousin's latest habit lately is making his fingers into a gun and saying boom to someone when he doesn't like what they have said or done. We are trying to break this habit because to me it seems inappropriate.  Trying to help this and out of summer boredom we pulled out some of my old Nancy Drew PC games made by Herinteractive. These games are mysteries, a few based on the Nancy Drew books. They are for ages 10 and up. They all have well developed characters, a great plot sometimes with suspense. I can't remember how old I was when I started but I absolutely love these games! They aren't violent, they always have good puzzles requiring great brain power, humorous and best of all there is no age limit for them! There makers have a great website with (safe) message boards where you can go for hints and tips. A new game was just released( I am awaiting my copy in the mail) game number 22. They aren't overly expensive and they are easy to find. If you are considering ordering one go with a newer one if you have windows vista. This because some computers are no longer compatible with the older games. But next on Herinteractive's list is to remaster there old games! The first one is being rereleased(remastered) comes out in August! (or us ND fans are hoping). Another fun thing is on Facebook lately people(including me) have been making profiles for the characters! So it's fun that way 2! Nancy drew is a great role model for young girls! You should check her out! As well as herinteractive for Nancy Drew games! Recently an ad went up for them in the side bars!(I wrote this blog a little bit ago and am updating and posting it). They are amazing <3 Well ciao for now, my cousin is bothering me to go play ND with him!

Many people ask: Where does zelda start? where does it end? This is very confusing, especially in ocarina of time, where you grow up halfway through. It all started when zelda for the snes was created. It automatically featured link as an adult. which was OK.but then, later on, tons and tons more games with link showed him as a kid, which made us to question when it all took place.

Still no answer is given, so, what about you, when do you think it all took place?

Ok so like, im a good drawer and all, but the ONE (and I mean ONE) thing I cant draw mainly is Tails. Sure, a simple cat tail or a dog tail is easy....but Tails from sonic x? O_o How am I gonna do that??

I used some How-To website, and it didnt turn out too well.

So, if your a good drawer, and you can draw like anything, I need tips.

Sunny Days and Honey Glaze,

-Iman

P.S. the picture is showed on the blog as you can see. im trying to draw a Portiat size of the picture. not a landscape.

P.P.S. Im asking allykatzz this cause cde has like over 10,000,000 people on every single day. And 200,000,000,000 (just guessing) that come every year. So, the blogs go by really quick. And plus, allykatzz is a girls only site, which makes it better.

P.P.P.S. Comment on styles and ideas on how i can do it.

P.P.P.P.S I put this under the gaming blog cause Tails is in The Sonic the Hedgehog games.

yola! random_ninja_wolf_madiXD reporting here:) okay, so today, Apple's launching it's new greatest and biggest technology yet, the iPhone 4, and strive to hold the record of selling 1,000,000 devices in one day. while tons and TONS of people are buzzing for this new Apple invention and are making them fly of the store shelves, tons and TONS of people find it's flaws and blemishes for it. for example, users find the device to have lost reception when they touch the band around the iPhone 4's middle and even yellow lines or dots in it's "super high quality" screen. yet here are the TOP flaws of the new technology.

5) a "skimpy" camera-and as Apple won't use the 8-megapixel class until next year, it has doubts that a new Sony camera in its 2011 iPhone.

4) no swipe-you know, 'cause its definitley a challenge when your sitting down, typing on the touchscreen when you might have chubby, fat fingers and the swipe keypad softward helps tame that, but nope, they didnt inclue it.

3) video calling-not too bad, but Apple's new video calling software can only be applied and can only be called if the person has WiFi connection and has to use the same app on his/her iPhone 4.

2) iphone 4 shortages- a shortage in in-plane display panels Apple's contract manufacturers to cut rates in half to 1 million iPhones a month, which means it could push other buyers to other phones.

1) no verison iPhone- while apple's in a partnership with AT&T, buyers have been waiting for the Verizon iPhone, which won't come out until next year if ever.

well there you have it, and while that remains, some are very pleased with their iPhones. while this blog could go on and on and on, i should probably stop writing and enlongiating it. :D bye! -madiXD an AK reporter

I have been seeing rumors about some black box in the file select screen on Super Mario 64 DS. Obviously, it is there when you collect all 150 stars. I believe anyone who says he can be unlocked (except for those people who say that you have to get a total of 2401 coins for each level). I've looked for hours on Youtube, looking for a video on EXACTLY how to unlock him, but there are NONE. Either it's just evidence, nonsense, or fake, and I am ticked off about it. PLZ, anyone that REALLY gets him (that means NOT TO FOOL ME) send me a shoutout on exactly how you did it.
