Aloha Allykatzz girls! =] Look what someone did to Azula!! Who made her mad?? Oh wait...shes always mad. Nevermind. XDD Today's topic is bullying. Its just annoying and plain strange. Why would you bother someone for no apparent reason?? Really?? Bullying is mainly what goes on everywhere. From online, to school, to your neighborhood. Ive been bullied ever since 2nd grade. Like yesterday in science class, I couldn't find my Diary of a wimpy kid book, So I found it on the table and when I opened it, some dummy wrote a bunch of nasty stuff in my book! KNOWING THAT MY NAME WAS AT THE FRONT OF MY BOOK!!! All I thought was: "What kind of idiot would write this kind of stuff in my book and know it belongs to me??" I was crying for almost the whole class time, but I kinda chilled out after....Today I wen't to the conselor's office and she talked to me, Now I feel happy today. Ways to deal with bullying: *Tell a adult. It would be the best thing if you told a adult instead of hiding it from them. *Don't get revenge. Revenge is only good when it comes to pranks. Otherwise, Don't try that stunt. *Ignore it. Its easier to show them that you really don't care what you do....as long as you don't have a fear of hieghts like I do....Im too scared someone will push me off the 2nd level of the school. TT.TT (I have a strange phobia....and im aslo scared of Vector from Sonic X. O.o....kinda.) Someone said I couldn't make a difference to stop bullying on cde.....Who said a 12 year old Tailsmo fan and SonSal fan (Don't Judge me!! Im starting to grow to like SonSal....Amy Rose is just annoying and Sally is awesum. End of Story.) can't change the world and stop bullying? Psh, don't tell a girl what they can't do! Love, Hugs, and Peace.... ~*Iman!*~ 1 Replies Backatcha!

Good morning, fellow Tweeters! Sure, we admit it, we LOVE to log on Twitter & tweet whatever comes into our heads, or we like to plop on the couch to watch summer shows. That may not be so good for us. Check out this article & tell me what you think. :) Source: jsyk.com According to a newreportfrom the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, teen drug use is on the rise and researchers are concerned that media like TV, video games and social networking sites may be linked to the increase of substance abuse. That was another original article...Now here is what I have to say. I do agree with this report, because like I said on Twitter, basically we Tweet whatever comes into our heads. & we all know that some people are not very nice, & since you can say ANYTHING on Twitter, they can say something offensive to you...That may lead to depression & after a while, the use of drugs. So, do you spend a lot of time Tweeting, updating your status & chilling in front of the TV? If you do, try to stop it a bit. Spend time with your family, play with your friends, INTERACT with people. Believe me, face-to-face is better than an IM chat! :) Love From A Gal Who Quit Twitter A Couple Weeks Ago, Sarah [[[♥♥♥]]] 2 Replies Backatcha!

I made her...she is different. She is unique. With love I formed her in her mothers womb. I fashioned her with great joy. I remember with great pleasure the day I created her. I lover her smile. I love her ways. I love to hear her laugh And the silly things she says and does. She brings me grate pleasure. This is how I made her. I made her pretty and not beautiful.I wanted her to search out her heart and learn that it would be ME in her to make her beautiful... And it would be Me that would draw other to her. I made her in such a way that she would need me. I made her a little more lonesome than she would like to be... Only because I need for her to learn and depend on Me. I know her heart. I know if i had not made her lke this,,she would go her own chosen way And forget Me... her Creator. Because I love her,I have seen her broken heart...and the tears she cried alone. I have cried with her, and had a broken heart too. Many times she has stumbled and fallen alone... Only because she would not hold my hand. So many lessons she learned the hard way because she would not listen to My voice. So many times I have watched her go her merry way alone... Only to watch her return to my arms, sad and broken. And now she is Mine again. I made her,and I bought her... Because I love her. I have to reshape and remold her To renew her to what i planned for her to be It has not been easy for her of for Me. I want her to be conformed to My image. This high goal I have set for her... Because I love her.

hello people, oh, u read the title right? do u REALLY want the juicy info?? really? okay, i'll tell u well, today we were in louisiana visiting my memaw and pawpaw, when we got a phone call from my daddy's work, and they said my dad had been having a lot of pain in his chest area and under his ribs (my dad HATES hospitals, like he despises them, so) they told him he should go 2 the hospital right? well he said he would rather lay there and die then go to the hospital, so, they literally dragged him 2 the car and drove him 2 the ER. So we had 2 go home early... :( It was nothing 2 serious, but the hospital was chock full when they got there, so he had 2 wait 2 go into surgery... All they had 2 do was remove his apendix and he's doing pretty good... :) so, thank GOD 4 that! all the praying we did worked!!!!! :) --rylie--

It's easy to say or pledge to reduce, reuse, and recycle but half the time we forget our promise. Have you done that? I know I'm guilty of that. Sometimes we recycle often, but it's blindly or we don't think of it as reducing, reusing, or recycling. Even handing down clothing to a younger sister helps or you could sell it at a resale shop. Things We Can Do To Help: Garage sales Ride a bike or scooter instead of a car to nearby places Refurbish old furniture Recycle that junk mail Create jewelry from things like bottle caps Paper mâché Hand- Me- Downs The whole point is saving our only planet with living things (and chocolate :P) and having fun at it too! Hiya, pretties. =] Ah, the Alice In Wonderland dream. You know, a little cake that says, 'Eat me!' & after a bite, short little Alice becomes tall? [Or the other way around.] Sometimes we wish we had that little cake, huh? But just like for Alice, it didn't work out perfectly. She was too tall for the tiny door leading into Wonderland! Same with our generation's modern day 'cakes.' Ever heard this on tv? 'Call now & become a model...Or look just like one!' That's our little cake. But what they don't tell us is that looking like one requires make-up, hair stylists, tight-fitting clothes & airbrushing....Hollywood's happy & glamorous world of stardom isn't exactly how it seems...If there is one word to describe it, it would be 'illusion.' That absolutely gorgeous & super-skinny model featured in the latest issue of Teen Vogue is perfect, right? Wrong. Do you know how she stays that skinny? She starves herself. Do you know how she is that gorgeous? The BEST professional make-up artists & hair-stylists in the world. Do you know her secret to being perfect? No. Because she is not. Even the famous model Cindy Crawford once said that she doesn't wake up looking like Cindy Crawford. A curtain covers 'Hollywood.' Pull back the curtain & you can let in the light. So girls, next time you are about to take it to the extreme to look like that Vogue model, remember the 'cake of perfection...' It is not perfect. Love From A Non-Airbrushed Reporter, Sarah [♥♥♥]

Okay, so Emily♥♥♥ and I were sending Shout Outs to each other, and she came up with a FAB idea! So, we thought that we could start an ALLYKATZZ account, made for, well, stories made by all of us! I know, confusing right? So what we mean is a page for: · We all make a book together, and you get assigned to a certain chapter. · So if I was assigned to chapter 1, I would make chapter one, SHOUT OUT it to the account made for this ‘all in one group book’ activity. And that chapter 1 would be posted, with your name on it. we all get to show our inner creativity! (oh and sorry for big words, it’s a bad habit of mine ;) What do you think, would you like to join in? what are your ideas for the book? Please leave a comment, and tell us your awesome ideas! There will be a winning idea! PS. I will also start a book soon. PSS. I forgot: please comment on what icon and what user name we should use. XOXO Cass… and Emily ♥♥♥ 11 Replies Backatcha!

I want everyone to think that miracles can happen. I want to tell you some stories of some pretty impressive TRUE miracles: An old woman who had been paralyzed for over twenty years, was outside one day in her wheelchair, during a lightining storm. She was struck by lightining twice. That same day, she felt strong. She attempted to stand up...and she could. Those two lighting strikes, that could have been deadly, gave her the ability to walk again. But, now during every lightining storm, she hides in a room, alone, so she can feel safe.
A teenage boy was out for a ride with his best friend on their ATVs. They were riding around, and the boy couldnt stop and the ATV rolled over him. His friend desperately tried to wake him. And called 911. He was taken to the hospital and was in a deep coma. His parents had agreed to pull the life support and let him die. And they were going to have his organs harvested. But, his father was not going to give up that easily. He took his pocket knife(closed) and ran it across his limp son's foot. It pulled away, as if in pain. "Did you see that?" His father asked. He showed to the nurse again, and she said it was just a reflex. His father still wouldnt give up. He went up to his son, got his hand and jabbed his fingernail as hard as he could underneath his sons nail. He immediatly jerked away. The nurse was astonished. About three hours later, the boy was up and eating. Wow, he was able to pull through just before his organs would have been taken.
A woman was at home and wanted a snack. She got an apple and sliced it up. The juicy fruit hit the spot untill... She was choking. Coughing and desperately trying to give herself the himlich menuver, she knew she was going to die. Her dog, Toby, watched her, and knew something was wrong. He ran up to her, pushed her down, and pushed on her chest several times. Her elderly neighbor happened to come in and was yelling, "Toby! Get off!" Just then, the hunk of an apple shot out of her swollen thoat. Her dog had saved her life.
If you want anymore amzing stories on any topic just let me know in a comment or shout out and i will get right on it.

Yeah, that's right! A team of scientists are trying to raise the Titanic ship for the public. Just in case you don't know what the Titanic ship is, it is a legendary ship that sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15th, 1912. If you want to know more about the ship, go to www.TitanicFacts.com. The expedition to the site 2 1/2 miles beneath the North Atlantic is billed as the most advanced scientific mission to the Titanic wreck since its discovery 25 years ago. The group of Scientists are starting their 20 day expedition on August 18th, 2010 under a partnership with RMS Titanic Inc. The expedition will not collect artifacts but will probe a 2-by-3-mile debris field where hundreds of thousands of artifacts remain scattered. Organizers say the new scientific data and images will ultimately will be accessible to the public. "For the first time, we're really going to treat it as an archaeological site with two things in mind," David Gallo, an expedition leader and Woods Hole scientist, told The Associated Press on Monday. "One is to preserve the legacy of the ship by enhancing the story of the Titanic itself. The second part is to really understand what the state of the ship is." The Titanic struck ice and sank on its maiden voyage in international waters on April 15, 1912, leaving 1,522 people dead. For the source's article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100727/ap_on_re_us/us _titanic_expedition Thanks for Reading! We are all greedy. We complain that we don't get that new cd, or that we don't get our own room. What about the kids in Africa?? They don't KNOW what a cd is. They technically don't even have a house. It's a box. If we all went and switched places with them, we wouldn't be so happy. But that still dosn't change the fact that we are all greedy. Every Christmas, I like to fill a shoebox for a girl or boy and I choose the age. I fill it with little inexpensive items. I give them to participating churches and they give it to homeless children. Near Christmastime, I will post a blog with more info. Imagine how happy they get.   ; & nbsp; &nb sp; Thanks! Jessie♥ 3 Replies Backatcha!

We all have toys, clothes, food and lots of other things and all we do is complain. A long time ago they did'nt even own a pair of shoes and none of them complained. We have about FIVE pairs of shoes and ALL we do is complain! I think this all needs to change. We should be saving energy and preventing from Global warming happening. Also there is a recession going on and we all have to save our money. Some of our parents don't have jobs anymore and when they say "NO! " to a pair of shoes you want. Listen!. Heres what we can do to save the planet and its really simple and will only take up five minutes of your day. RECYLE AND REUSE!!

Hey girls!
So yesterday, I saw a really interesting article about a company in India, which is the home to a lot of the world's cheapest things, including a $2,000-ish car, and a $16 water purifier. Basically, the article was about a company that invented a roughly $30 laptop that looks similar to the iPad, and can do basic tasks like write word documents, browse the internet, and support video conferencing. It was their answer to a MIT project called One Laptop Per Child that aimed to provide one laptop for every child living in a developing country so they would have the tools to go to school or learn online.
The OLPC laptop was supposed to be $100, but eventually needed to be $200 to cover the costs of making it, and India thought that was too expensive, so they embarked on a multi-year project to create a laptop to give students the capability to learn. I thought this was great, but this is where I started questioning where they were cutting costs. Basically, I brought it down to where and how the materials that go into a tablet computer that would cost $30 are made. How are the people that are going to possibly be creating this laptop going to be treated and paid? Basically, fair trade and how it affects us.
So what is fair trade exactly? This was one of my favourite units in social studies this year, and this is the definition the teacher gave us with a little bit of Ali flair! Fair trade is: The agreement between someone who is providing a product like a teeshirt or corn, and someone who is selling the product, usually in a country different then where it's made. The difference between trade, which I just described, and fair trade is how the workers and producers are treated. Fair trade uses "ethical labor" which means there has been no child labor used on the product, the producers are paid fairly and have good, safe working conditions. If the product is food, usually fruit or vegetables, there's usually no herbicides, pesticides, or other chemicals used, and the farmers use natural methods to get rid of bugs. This also makes the food "organic".
To tell you the truth, before this unit in school, I honestly had no idea where my clothes, food, and more came from. I never bothered to check that other label, except sometimes for washing instructions, and I never examined my food that closely to see where it was produced. I didn't think it mattered, but it does! Fair trade is a lot better for us, because when the workers are paid fairly, they have more money to spend on vital things like school for their kids, or a pair of shoes they need to work in that factory. Also, companies who import fair trade goods have longer contracts with the suppliers, which allows them to plan for the future.
For example, if a clothing supplier knew they would have a contract with a company for 5 years instead of 5 months, they could by a sewing machine that made better, stronger stitches, therefore making your clothes better, because they knew the could pay it off eventually. Also fair trade allows farmers or suppliers to be in control of what they make, and get together and form groups, sometimes to buy big, expensive machinery which they all share because they all chipped in and had enough $ to buy it!
So now that you know about fair trade and how important it is, I bet you're questioning where to get products that are made like this? A lot of companies don't do fair trade, but there a few who make their products ethically. Here's just a couple of them!
10,000 Villages Some of Starbucks coffee drinks A lot of health food stores, coffee shops, etc.
So now that I've given you a quick crash course in fair trade, I want to know what YOU think! Is fair trade important? Do you try and buy fair trade products, or do you not really care? Did you know what fair trade was before this blog? Will you care about fair trade now that you've learned some of the benefits?

Hey girls!
I recently saw this article on Yahoo, and I found it very intresting, so I thought I'd share it with the lovely girlies on Allykatzz! Basically, it's about a company based out of India, which is home to companies inventing things known as the "world's cheapest" , including a $2,000-ish car, a $16 water purifier, and $2,000 open-heart surgery, all of which are in rapid demand in India and developing as well as developed countries! They invented a tablet computer, which looks roughly like Apple's iPad and would cost roughly $30 if marketed and made for purchase by the public.
The company says it's their answer for a project started by MIT (Massachusettes Institute of Technology) which is called One Laptop Per Child. Basically, their mission was to provide one laptop per child for children in the developing world so they could have basic things to complete school work, and allow them to go to school, etc. OLPC's laptop was originally thought to be priced at $100, which India found too expensive, so they started a multi-year project to create a computer that could do basic things like write word documents, allow web browsing, and house video conferencing, among other things. They haven't actually made the product beyond prototypes yet, but it's tentitively set to come out in 2011 if the companies that showed intrest in making it, including a Taiwanese company, follow through.
The reason why the laptop is so cheap, therefore accessable to students in developing India, and possibly in the US and Canada if they import it? Because the hardware that goes into a laptop doesn't cost as much anymore, and a smart, intelligent design make it possible. Also, the tablet design costs less to create, as well as the memory card, the same thing that's in your cell phone, insted of a hard disk. This is what got me questioning . . . Basically, about fair trade. While creating this blog, my train of thought went out of control, and I realized I needed a seprete blog on fair working conditions because I had so much to say! Please stay tuned for that, coming very soon, as in today or tomorow!
Anyways, I think the general idea of this tablet laptop is great, because it really enables students to take charge of their own learning and make it possible! I love how the laptop is part of the Indian government's plan to make study materials and school available online, which would probably be convenient for kids living in remote villages that don't have schools. This really made me appreciate having an awesome school just 15 minutes walking from my house! And being a girl and being able to go to school at all, for that matter!
So, after that whole long learning process, I want to know what YOU think! What do you think about a laptop costing about $30 and how it would affect kids in India and all over the developing world? Do you think it's going to help the world become more educated if we create something like this? Would you buy it if they eventually sell it overseas? Do you try and buy fair trade products, or do you honestly not know where your stuff comes from? Don't be ashamed, I don't know where most of mine does either! Anyways, hope this blog gets you thinking!

What is TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms), you ask? Well, that's what I'm here to tell you about! They are a non-profit organization to help prevent suicide, self-injury, addiction, and depression. They are some pretty deep topics, but they're all around the world around us and even sometimes in our own lives if it's our loved ones, friends, or ourselves. Everyone goes through a hard time but those are not the roads you need to take.Their goal? This is what their website states: "To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery." It's a great organization, and it's great to support. You can purchase bracelets, shirts, hoodies, and more to help support & spread the word on their website; twloha.com. I attached a picture of one of the many shirts you can purchase. Here are some of the facts posted on the website, that shocked me and that I thought I would share with you. - "Between 20% and 50% of children and teens struggling with depression have a family history of this struggle and the offspring of depressed parents are more than three times as likely to suffer from depression. (U.S. Surgeon General's Survey, 1999)" - "2/3 of those suffering from depression never seek treatment." - "Each year only 10 percent of Americans who need alcohol and drug treatment get the help they need." - "Self-injury remained very much a mystery until 1996 when Princess Diana revealed that she had struggled with it. It has become much more visible in society within the last ten years." - "Suicide is now among the three leading causes of death among those aged 15-44 (male and female)." Check out the website & see for yourself what it is all about. If you can, purchase something to help the cause. They are currently out on the Vans Warped Tour promoting their cause around the country, too. Anything you do, can and will help. You can also purchase info cards to hand out to your friends & once school starts again, to your friends at school. Remember, somebody is always there to lend out a hand if you're in a dark spot. <3 Keep your head up. - Angie. 11 Replies Backatcha!

Holla, girls! What do you think of this? Do you think that it's okay that her pictures where retouched? Or do you think it's mean & insulting? You can tell the difference in the photos-on the left side is her 'real' photo, on the right is the one that was retouched. This is part of the original article. Source:http://today.msnbc.msn.com /id/38358777/ns/today-today_fashion_and_beauty/?gt 1=43001 Model Crystal Renn has become the poster woman for curvy girls everywhere, many of whom know her story: As a teen model, Renn tried so hard to get down to the size 0 designers wanted that she developed bulimia and anorexia. So when Renn saw the published results of a recent photo shoot she did for charity Fashion for Passion in which her body was whittled down via retouching, her reaction was vehement. “When I first saw the photos, I would have to say I was absolutely shocked,” Renn, 24, told Meredith Vieira on TODAY Thursday. “I think I sat in silence for a good five minutes. “I didn’t think it was an accurate portrayal of my body in any way,” she added. “I’m a size 10, and that’s more like a size 2.” Since recovering from her eating disorders seven years ago — Renn had an epiphany when her hair started falling out in clumps and she could barely muster a step without becoming exhausted — the model has seen her career take off. She’s in high demand from fashion’s top photographers, gracing the pages of Vogue and Glamour, sashaying down the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier, and being the face and body of Dolce & Gabbana ads.‘Mass hysteria’ “Mostly people felt a sense of betrayal before they knew that the pictures had been retouched,” Goldman explained. “I think women have so few role models to look up to that they felt, ‘Now [that] she clearly thinks she needs [to do this] to be beautiful, I’m going to have to do that, too.’ ”.... So, what do you think?? Love From A 'Shocked' Reporter, (I think it gives tweens & teens a wrong image of that 'world.') ~SaraH~ ♥ 3 Replies Backatcha!

Holla, music lovers! {Thanks again, Jamie, for an awesome blog idea. :D} My AMAZING fellow Reporters: I LOVE YOU GUYS! Look in your e-mail for one from moi. ;D I absolutely loved reading yours, by the way. In today's music world tweens & teens are influenced all the time by lyrics in their favourite songs. The question: Is there anything you are disappointed by, or frustrated about, in the current music industry? Currently, I'm frustrated that Hollywood hypes up sex & alcohol like it's the IT thing. (Or the thing to do.) We all know that this has been going on for a long time, not something that's just started happening. But, for US, the tweens & teens of this day & age, it's way more prominent. All of us have a favourite song, right? One with an awesome beat? I do. But, you see, in many songs, the lyrics are hidden by the catchy, clubby beat. Take two songs for the example: Blah Blah Blah by Ke$ha & Prom Dress by Millionaires. I used to LOVE listening to Blah Blah Blah. I would play it every day & sing along. One day, my mom said 'Do you hear the lyrics in that song?!' & I'm like, 'What lyrics?' So I go on YouTube & look for the lyrics....After checking it out, I'm like 'Whoa!!' Then, of course, Prom Dress. One of the girls here on AK said it's an 'awesome song.' I looked it up & listened carefully, ignoring the make-ya-wanna-dance beat. I sat in stunned silence, with my mouth open, staring at the lyrics. P.S. Yeah, I don't listen to those songs much anymore. & basically, the picture I attached with this blog is saying, 'Well, they do it in my fave song & it seems cool, so I should try it!!' ....Hey, babe, if you're thinking that...You shouldn't try it. :) Like in Tik Tok by Ke$ha. That beat is soo cool. Perfect for a party, right? Wrong. What will your friends think if you are rocking out to a song that basically is saying to tweens & teens, 'Go out & get drunk! Have some real fun.' Hm, so having a hangover & doing something really stupid while you are drunk is real fun? PLEASE. Example: 'Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack. Cause when I leave for the night I ain't coming back.' Did ya get the implications in those lyrics?? I did. So girls, before you start dancing to a new song you just found, look up the lyrics. Love From A Music Loving Reporter, Sarah ♥♥♥ Sorry I said the word 'lyrics' so many times in my blog. That's one of my pet peeves. I HATE writing a blog & having way too many of the same word. :P Ha ha. & hey, this blog may be jumping all over the place, parts of it may not make sense, & maybe I didn't finish my thoughts. But that's life. ♥
