Disaster News All Around The Globe!!

Disasters happen all the time. Like, for instance, The earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010 lasted about 35 seconds. Weeks of improbable rescues, tearful reunions and astonishing displays of resilience followed. Looking out over Haiti from his balcony, a man said he "Saw The Earth Shaking, Dust Covering The Area, and Fires Breaking Out." Another Witness Of The Quake Said, "Within 15 blocks of my destroyed home, i saw over 100 people dead on the street." Now, in my opinion, thats horrid. My friends and I have been earning money for Haiti. I know, most people would be like, "Eh, its over, who cares?" But its NOT OVER. Familes and people have been struggling all this time. No food, water, shelter, books, toys, ANYTHING! So, my friends and I earned money so that we can send it in to Haiti. We sent some money in a couple of weeks ago, and we all feel good because we know some family or kid out there just got a bowl of soup, or a bottle of water. I think we all should try and earn money for Haiti.  People are struggling out there people. Be a good person and at least TRY to HELP...

The more oxygen the better!  4. Try 2 look 4 hemp or bamboo clothes. They r biodegradable & comfy. 5. Switch 2 organic body products.Ur bod will thank u! ;)   6. Eat healthier. Ditch the cow's milk & try almond or rice milk. Wheat instead of wgite. More green foods. (the best: USDA approved.)  7. Remember the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle._______________________________________

Recently Haiti, Taiwan, Chile, & just Monday morning, Turkey have been hit by massive, destructive earthquakes. They need our help by donating non-perishable items like canned foods, clothes, things like toiletries, eating utensils, games 4 the children, First Aid kits....anything u think will help them. Hey, girlies! I just found an amazing clothing line that I thought I'd like to share with you all, because it's so amazing! Pictured is the shirt that I got for my birthday last week from one of my friends. On the tag was the website, and I was interested in the company because it was so gosh darned cute. With research, I found that Peace Love World gives money to worthy causes and designs clothes to spread the universal message of peace, love, and happiness. 2day i had soo much homework!!! I had a double sided math page , a 3 page science assighment,a assimint in my spelling notebook and i had 2 finish a spelling page i didnt finish in school! Dawn Brancheau the trainer for killer Whales in Orlando Florida was killed by a whale named Tilikum during the afternoon show. She slipped in the water where the whales were in and Tilikum started to drowned her in front of the crowd. This is not the first time Tilikum killed. In 1991 Tilikum killed one of his trainers and in 1999 he killed a man. Tilikum will not be in the show for a while. The woman was in her 40's and loved him very much. I hope you will give her a little pray for her family and herself. ♥Rest in peace Dawn Brancheau♥

Hi Everyone I have seen heaps of pictures and newspapers of terrible things about the environment. We waste water in showers when we should only shower for 4 minutes. dont have big big baths. But worst of all litter. look at this picture at the turtle.every little piece of rubbish dropped is a matter. every piece of paper that is picked up and put in the bin counts. Please help look after the world. its the only one we have.try to use chemicals that are save for the environment. please. if you look up pictures of negative environment you will see how terrible it looks. try to use less pollution. air pollution and water pollution(water pollution is like plastic bags in the water,greywater and stuff) please look after your environment everybody and try spread the word: Look after the world its the only one we have. please! every little part counts. thank you if you can.    I crochet. I just started a pair of armwarmers and I've been making baby hats for premies down at the hospitals neonatal ward. I've been trying to make them cute, but putting little hearts on them, or putting a little crocheted  flower on top, because I know that these babies deserve more than just a plain white cap. They deserve hats that will keep their heads warm and adorable! :) Maybe I will take some pics and upload them to AK. When I crochet it really relaxes me. It's easier for me than knitting, and I have no idea why it would be (since knitting is supposed to be less complicated) but I guess it would have to be because I've been crocheting longer than I've been knitting. It's actually pretty fun, and when you have the finished product it's really self-rewarding knowing that you have actually made something.  I know that as much as I love crocheting though, the other day I had made so many hats I didn't want to touch another piece of yarn as long as I live. But that soon went away, as I am crocheting again today. lol. It really helps when you're trying to get your mind off of all of the stress in the world around you (especially on days like today...) and it is really fun to do in the long run. Anybody else have a love for the art? Whether you knit or crochet, let me know if you do. :)

      I just went to my great grand-mothers nursing home . When i went i wanted to do somethingg to volunteer b/c it was sadd see all these people just sitting there. So i volunteered and then i made there stay at the home much much better they love having kids around because some of them dont have families and it is very loving . So if theres a nursing home near you go! and help , and change there lives at their new home. Make a change in there lives!~~~

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation is searching for the 2010-2011 Youth Advisory Board, and guess what? YOUcould be one of this years 25 members!

What is the Alliance all about? It's the empowerME movement to inspire kids to eat healthy and be physically active. The goal of the Alliance is to reduce childhood obesity by 2015, and to empower kids nationwide to make healthy lifestyle choices. The awesome part is that they want tweens and teens to share their thoughts, help motivate their peers, and ultimately make our generational be the best it can be!

This is a once in a lifetime chance to help make a difference in tweens and teens lives across the country, if your between the ages 8-17 before the month of July you too can be a youth leader like the kids in this picture!

Hey girls!

 

When I read this article on 6 year old Jasmina Anema, I HAD to share it with you . . . It's about girl making a difference in the lives of others, and giving many people who wouldn't have had it a second shot at life by using her battle with leukeumia to help others to find a bone marrow doner and win their battles.

 

Jasmina Anema was just a regular 6 year old, she loved to read and play dress up, dance, and explore new things. But last January, when she found out she had leukeumia, she had to have a ton of chemotherapy and radiation sessions to kill the cancer cells, while she waited for a bone marrow match. She had a ton of painful sores in her mouth, and all of her hair fell out. But she was still cheerful and positive, and saw that she could use her own battle against leukeumia to help others.

 

So she started a ton of Jasmina bone marrow drives to get people registered, especially Hispanic and African-American people, who are the smallest portion of people on bone marrow registries, and a ton of young people too! Her bone marrow drives then caught the eye of a ton of celebrites like Rihanna and NBA star Paul Pierce who got the word out, and encouraged doners to come forward. Sadly, Jasmina lost her battle with leukeumia on January 27th, but she's already saved the lives of 12 people who have found matches because of Jasmina, and many more people who can now use her bone marrow registry and get a second chance at life!

 

Her mom's goal is to get 1 million people to register on a bone marrow registry, so if you know someone who is eligable to donate bone marrow, please let them know, and read this article! You can make a difference, and you can be the one who saves someone's life. You can make change!

   Luck may be an issue for you. Death of loved ones or any other depressing stuff may make you seem that your falling. But you have to keep holding on. You might be crestfallen, but you have to stay holding on that broken branch. The branch may be broken now but after a while it will heal. Just like yourself. Try to heal because if not ,it may affect your schoolwork, friends, and your loved ones. Remeber the words, Keep Hanging On. Use these words as insperation when your down. You don't stop believing. Believe that things will get better. You never have to forget your depressing moment, but don't let it get the most of it. So those who are un-lucky, Just Keep Holding On♥♥

You love to blog, you love to read, you'd love to help the people in Haiti. 
How do you combine all three?
It's simple! Go to www.realizewhatmatters.org and participate in the Haiti blog challenge. All you have to do is go to the site, read the first chapter of 'the ruby books' (it's really fast and intereststing- think pictures with captions but it's not for little kids either) which are about a girl trying to find her special talent.
At the end of the virtual chapter you can put in your name, email (you won't be spammed-promise!), and a link to a website ( I recommend doing your allykatzz page!) Than boom! A dollar goes to Haiti! The first 700 people who post a link will get the dollar donated so spread the word and you can help 700 bucks go to the relief efforts in Haiti! (Plus it's good advertisement for your AK page!)

Heyyyyyy, i just got back from my first relay forlife meeting and it was actulllyy reallllly funn(: My mom's frendd has a team so me her and my sister all joined(: Relay for life is to support everyy typ of Cancer,, tonight they had sum people who had cancer and survive cum up and speak there was this one women who was 75 years old and had cancer and she was sooooo cute my mom took care of her when the lady was in the hosiptal (mom;s a nurse) but anyways she was soooo kh-uteeee(: and she was soo funny i <33 that ladyy! Today all they really did was give us sum informationn on everything like about how in May there will be a event when everyone on the teams wil cum out to the highh school and stay from 4 in the afternoon and till lykk 7 the next morningg and we were talking to our leader of the groupp (mom;s frend) and she said you'll be able to take naps and stuuff but you probally wont want to cus they'll have a holeeeeee bunch of activityy;s anyways??? Is anybodyy else a part of RELAY FOR LIFE? Commentss?(:
