I love Lady Gaga and she is a role model, I do admit, she used to be a bad gurrl but now she is less of a bad gurrl, she is a nice woman, (yes a WOMAN!), when she was younger she was very goal orriented, and was very studious. Now, she is living her main goal that she had, to become a singer. She writes all of her songs, and is the REAL her in public and private... she is GAGA. The reason I consider her a role model, is because she, lives her dream everyday, is the REAL her and not what people want her to be, was very about school and making good grades, and turning stuff in on time (which is a good thing :). I want to be just like her, she is just amazing and i love her shock art...mainly her fashion, she is like a living catwalk. I just love her, She is an amazing woman and thats it... :)

Love & Monsterz,

Em

True Jackson VP star, Keke Palmer, turns 17 today, and guess how she's celebrating? Keke is hosting a charity event for those in need! She wants people to donate $17, or any other amount they can, to help the less fortunate souls in this world. So far she has raised $5,767 and 288 people have donated. Keke's goal is $10,000.

This is what Keke personally wrote on her donation page.

"Hey guys,

I have been so blessed in my life to have great parents, wonderful friends, and fantastic fans!

To be honest I never even imagined that somewhere in the world kids are dying because they do not have clean drinking water. I knew that food was a problem; kids not having enough to eat, but I just assumed that everyone at least had access to water; water is free right?

I was wrong, there are places in the world where water is unsafe to drink, a friend of mine brought this to my attention saying he was going to try and help by donating money from his birthday, and I have a birthday coming up too and thought that would be a great idea!

I will be 17 on Aug 26th, I am asking friends and family instead of buying me a gift please send $17 dollars to MyCharityWater.org/KekePalmer I am asking my fans to donate only $10 (only if you can spare), and unlike a lot of charities 100% of all money collected goes straight to the community. I will be able to provide video to show all who donated where their dollars actually went, how amazing is that to donate money to help children and then watch how your contribution has saved their lives!

I have been working with charities that help children starting way back when I was in Akeelah and The Bee, but I have never done anything like this. I was just so moved by My Charity Water and wanted to help bring clean water to children, water should be clean and available to all people at least that is how I feel.

Please join me in my goal to raise $10,000 that will provide clean water to 500 people.

Keke"

Want to help reach the goal of $10,000 and give 500 people clean water? Donate here: http://mycharitywater.org/p/campaign?campaign_id=6 396

Happy 17th Birthday, Keke!

Love from a singing, writing, loving Allykatzz reporter,

-Susan

For those of you who don't know what a purity is, a purity ring is just a physical reminder that a lot of Christian girls use tat reminds us to stay pure and wait for THAT until after we're married women lol.

I really like my purity ring =)

Okay so, when I thought about this I wanted to BLOG.

I want to do so much.

And I'm easily inspired to do things(not in poem writing). Like, after watching The Runaways, I wanted to play the electric guitar. And it's not like you find a black girl with an electric guitar around where I live every day!! Not at all, actually!! I would blow their minds, man!!! >:-D

Now when I think about it...I've never seen a black girl play an electric guitar! Though I'm sure they're out there, they have to be!!

So, that's my next goal. Learn how to play the guitar!! =D

And when I discovered Vanessa Carlton, I wanted to play the piano. But did I tell you now my stupid tiny piano doesn't work anymore??

And when my cousin read out one of her poems at a Thanksgiving dinner, I started writing poems. That was like, 3 years ago???

And now I love poetry and write it all the timme...

I know, this blog is so weird. But I guess that's okay.

nIKOLE

Hi, girls! Recently, I got the amazing opportunity to interview Michelle Moffa, who won the Nestle Very Best Of Youth award in 2007 for her charity work. Michelle was sweet, funny, and very polite during the interview. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed making it. Thank you, and here is the Q&A!

Note: The questions I asked are written in blue, and the answers Michelle gave are written in purple.

What's your full name?

Michelle Ann Moffa.

How old are you?

I am 14 years old, and I am going to be 15 in November.

Where do you live?

Linwood, New Jersey.

Could you describe the Nestle Very best of Youth program for our readers?

The Nestle Very Best In Youth Program is an award given to 25 teens ages 13-18 every other year.  (I won in 2007 when I was 11.  They have since moved the age up.)  The winners are chosen based on a strong academic record (GPA, honors, grades, etc) leadership, citizenship, and involvement in their school or community (community service work, helping others, etc.)  The winners receive $1,000 to donate to the charity of their choice.  Each winner, plus a parent, also receives a trip to Los Angeles, CA to the Nestle Headquarters for the awards ceremony - all expenses paid.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience where you get to meet the other winners and get rewarded for all you have done.  We went to multiple workshops where we were able to share everything we had done to make a difference in our communities.  The other winners were some of the most inspiring people I have ever met.

What's your story?

The year before I won, my family and I spent a week during the summer living on a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico called St. Mary's Mission.  While there, we did various types of service work to help on the Reservation.  This experience impacted me in ways nothing else could.  Many of the homes we saw had dirt floors and no electricity or running water.  One of them was missing an entire wall.  When I came home I realized how much I take for granted every day and decided to do everything I could to help those on the Reservation.  For my birthday in November every year since, I have asked my friends to bring gifts for the children on the Reservation instead of myself.  At my parties we also make fleece blankets to send out there with the donations for the holidays.  My family went back to the Reservation again a few summers ago and we are planning a trip there for next year as well. I am also very involved in volunteering at a local soup kitchen.  I organized a club at my middle school where we made PB&J sandwiches to send to the kitchen to hand out on Friday afternoons since the kitchen isn't open on the weekends. Also, in third grade I was in the hospital for a few days due to my asthma.  I really appreciated the support my friends and family gave me, but realized that not all kids were as lucky as I was.  When I came home I decided to collect books, playing cards, crayons, and coloring books, and I packaged them and delivered them to the hospital I had stayed in to hand out to the kids there so their stay might be just a little happier.

Who, would you say, are your role models?

My parents and my two older brothers are the ones who really got me involved in reaching out to help others and to always strive to do my very best in everything.  They all lead by example and do everything in their ability to help make in difference in the lives of those around them, by simply smiling and being upbeat or by bringing me to the soup kitchen to serve lunch on days off from school.

If someone was reading this interview and decided they want to become involved in their community and local charities, what advice would you have for them?

When it comes to community service, I think it is important to work on something you are passionate about, and to always remember that anything is possible through dedication and commitment.  For example, other NVBIY winners have started programs that include helping children in foster care, to informing others about natural disasters or service animals, making bracelets to support our troops over seas, and even holding beauty pageants for children with cancer.  My older brother (a winner in 2005) loves to read and began a one-on-one reading program in our area to share his passion - the joy of reading.  I hope to become a teacher and began volunteering at a local day care center for underprivileged children.  Through my passion for playing the flute, I am also looking to start a program in high school to collect used musical instruments to donate to children who are not as fortunate as I am.  Another thing to always keep in mind when it comes to reaching out to others is that every little bit makes a huge difference.  One of the NVBIY themes is "No dreamer is ever too small, no dream is ever too big."

I feel that Michelle is a truly inspiring girl and an amazing role model for all.

What do you think?

Sending lots of love from an AK Reporter,

Susan

1) How did you hear about the Nestle Very Best in Youth award and what motivated you to enter?

&nbs p;  My mom was actually the one who told me about the award. She was helping me to research other effective youth volunteers and happened to come across the award. Reading the stories of each and every past winner truly motivated me to be like them. The initiative of the young students really showed me the power that youth have to reach out. From a girl who recovered from anorexia to mentor other girls, to a young boy who started his own organization to raise over $10 million, these kids really inspired me to go for it. As it turns out, NVBIY was one of the best things that ever happened to me!

2) How has your charity and volunteering evolved since you won the award in 2007?

The evolution of my volunteer work since NVBIY has been constant and dynamic. Ever since the awards weekend in 2007, I had the opportunity to network with other incredible youth and gained a great deal of inspiration from them. The Nestle Very Best in Youth Award includes $1,000 for each winner to donate. I made the choice to donate it to the new library which was being built in my community. This choice led to a multitude of opportunities; I was able to talk to local government official and librarians. Since then, I founded LiFE! - Literacy is For Everyone, which included various initiatives such as a Spelling Club and collaborating on fundraisers such as booksales and teen photography contests. I also am a member of the Teen Library Council and serve on my city's public library board as youth commissioner. Taking leadership roles and public speaking have also become and integral part of my service, as I continue to correspond with past winners and members of the Nestle Very Best in Youth community. The most recent position I have taken is youth commissioner on the Placer County Youth commission, where teenagers from the county target pressing youth issues such as alcohol abuse and student involvement in education. Recently, I have also been inspired to speak out on the distortion of body image. I am currently creating an informative pamphlet addressing those issues that plague girls of modern day society.

3) What kind of music do you like to listen to?

I listen to pretty much all types of music, but my favorite songs are usually R&B. I also listen to classical music.

4) What do you do in your free time?

In my free time, I really enjoy playing music on the harp or piano. I also love to sing (especially Disney music!), figure skate, and bake whenever I get the chance. These activities really help me to step back from all the tasks I have to complete and just take some time to enjoy life's simple pleasures.

5) Are you still a member of your girl scout troop? If so how's that going?

I am no longer a member of the girl scout troop, but I'm still in touch with many of the girls from the troop.

6) What's one thing you've learned through helping others?

That's really tough! If there's one thing I've learned through helping others, it's that the people I have served have helped me more than I could have ever imagined. Often times, people have these preconceptions of volunteerism and what it really means. Many assume that volunteer work is all about giving of yourself and providing effort to remedy a problem in society. None of that is wrong, it's just that most people don't realize the impact that volunteerism has on the volunteer. Being active in the community really changed me as a person, showing me the value in each and every person and inspiring me to be the best I can be.

7) How's your summer going so far?

My summer has been filled with a lot of traveling and camps, so it's been kind of crazy! I went to Taiwan by myself for one month to tour the country and visit my relatives. That was definitely an eye-opening and cultural experience which helped me to improve my Chinese. I also went to a church camp and a summer leadership conference for the California Association of Student Councils. I've also been able to chill a bit too, read, sleep, and spend time with my family! I really wanted to use this summer to develop myself as a person so that I can reach my full potential as an active leader.

8) What's the most challenging part about speaking/writing in Chinese?

I would say the most difficult about writing Chinese is that it's not a phonetic language, so a lot of it deals with almost rote memorization. Sometimes I have to write the characters over and over just to remember the order in which the strokes are written, because stroke order is significant in Chinese, unlike English. It's very different from English, but I really enjoy it!

9) How often do your write in your Journal?

I journal every day, whenever I get the chance. To me, it's important to record what I accomplish and how I feel. I reflect a lot on who I am, and I find that writing is often the best way to express it.

10) How do you get ready for back to school? What grade will you be entering this year?

I prepare myself for school by getting lots of post-it notes and creating task lists! It helps me stay on track, and also I decided to step back from social networking such as chat or Facebook, just to get back into focus. I'll be entering my sophomore year at Mira Loma High School this fall.

11) How can young girls make a difference in their communities?

Every young girl has the power to change their communities. All it takes is a focused approach and passion. A motivated young girl needs to find what she is passionate about and harness the skills and resources that she has. This can blossom into a project, a club, a team, or any initiative that targets her passion. It also helps to find mentors and role models who will provide guidance along the way. As long as they stay inspired and have a genuine passion for what they pursue, any girl can make a huge impact on the world. As Ken Bentley from NVBIY said, "No dream is ever too big, no dreamer ever too small".

R u scared to start schoool? I am! I am going into 6th grade and I am kind of scared to go into a new school. I'm, scared that I won't know where to go, right when I get to school. At our school, you get dropped off and you have to go to the cafeteria and I am scared that when I get dropped off I won't know anybody, so I will be just standing there looking at all the 8th graders. When I was in 3rd grade my friends sister threatened to beat me up, but now I am friends with her. I am still scared of what the 8th graders will think of me. Once I got out of 5th I was happy because then I don't have to stand in a line, anymore, or walk the track when I forget my homework. Plz comment and tell me what you think of starting school again.

Some of you may have heard of Jessi Slaughter, or by her real name, Jessica Leonhardt. Jessi was already a member of the website, "StickyDrama" and became a micro-celebrity there, but had some haters. (But the site was full of haters- when all of this started I checked it out- a very mean website!) She put up a video on YouTube which is when everything started. The video was quite offensive really, she pretty much said "I'm better and your pathetic." The video, however, went viral. Jessi's personal information was exchanged online, probably from some of her online friends. People started to harass Jessi and her family. The next day, Jessi made another video, where she was crying that the cyberbullies "ruined her life'. Her father, admirably jumped into the video to defend her, but pretty much just showed that her family knew nothing about the internet, saying things such as "You Dun Goof'd" and "Consequences will never be the same" "backtrace" and "cyberpolice".

The trolls we relentless.

What does this event show us- what can we learn from it?

The other thing we need to know is that Jessi was exhibiting many bad behaviors. Even though she was only eleven, she had a major potty mouth in her videos, and it seemed like her parents gave her whatever she wanted. In photos, she posed provocatively. These are all behaviors that will attract unpleasant characters.

Her parents gave her a webcam and let her do whatever she wanted with it. They gave it too her so she could talk to her real-life and online friends. But Jessi also made videos that she put on StickyDrama.

What can we learn from this dilemma anyways? What is my point? Do I have a point? Yes. I do have a point.

Jessi was obviously not well monitored. Her parents left her to her own devices online and obviously know little about it, which let Jessi associate with the wrong people and not be caught. Jessi herself is also at fault- she was rude to people and an unpleasant character herself, and was obviously not keeping her identity secret. Jessi really was a time bomb in herself.

Long story short- you need to be careful online. Anything could happen. Be polite to people you may meet online, and unless you meet them in a safe place online, (like AllyKatzz!), and get parental permission from someone who does understand the internet, never, ever share personal information. Even if the person is legit- they may share it with some one else. Be pleasant, and don't cause a fuss- fade more into the background in places like YouTube. Even though people like Justin Bieber got famous online, if you do, it may not be the way you like.

My cousin and I have a thing going- we put quotes on our lockers. People tell us they're stupid and the suck and everything, but we still keep putting them up.

Our cycle goes like this:

We both search for quotes, and she emails them to me. I put all the quotes, mine and her and format them with fonts, sizes, and everything, one quote per page. I print a quote twice, and give my cousin's to her on the bus. Put them on the lockers, and see the day's reaction.

Sometimes people write on them. If its rude, we take the quote down immediately. Sometimes, they're ripped down. If its salvageable, we put it back up. Sometimes people tell us the quote was funny, or they really needed to read what it said at that moment. Either way, its a good thing.

I know some schools have a code against putting bulletins on lockers. But really, its not in the student expectations not too and teachers don't really care, so as long as your quotes are kind-hearted and appropriate for school, your teachers won't mind and will probably like them- in comparison to say, putting up a poster of Justin Bieber.

This really is a fun thing to do, and quotes are fun to find and format. If your going to format your quotes, I have some suggestions:

-Center the quote.
-Make the quote larger.
-Download fonts online- I suggest dafont.com- but really, read the readme's included with the fonts.

And before we finish, here are some quotes to get started:

"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor Roosevelt

"Be yourself. Everyone else is already take." Oscar Wilde

"I like nonsense. It wakes up the braincells." Dr. Suess

"One good thing about music: when it hits you, you feel no pain." Bob Marley

"Never put of till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow." Mark Twain

"It is bad luck to be superstitious." Andrew W. Mathis

"I can't understand it. I can't even understand the people who understand it." Queen Juliana

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." Walt Disney

A good place to start finding more quotes is goodreads.com

Happy quoting!
~Laura

Hufflepuff is one of the four Hogwarts houses. The house colours are yellow and black and the mascot is a badger. The house values hard work, loyalty, patience, friendship and fair play. Hufflepuff is thought of as the lame house at Hogwarts. The first time that the house is mentioned Draco is telling Harry that he would rather leave Hogwarts altogether than be sorted there. Just a few pages later, Hagrid mentions that many people think Hufflepuffs are rather unintelligent. These statements turn the reader against the house before Harry has even arrived at Hogwarts!

Despite all of these negative comments about the house, Hufflepuff had the second highest number of students stay behind and fight in the final battle, second only to Gryffindor. Although they value hard work and friendship, Helga Hufflepuff was the only founder of Hogwarts that was willing to teach everyone. Ravenclaw was only interested in the smartest students, Slytherin was concerned with those who had pure blood and ambition and Gryffindor chose those who were brave and daring. The relics of the four founders show these traits. Slytherin's locket showed ancestry, Ravenclaw's diadem gave knowledge and Gryffindor's sword was a fierce weapon. Hufflepuff's cup may seem unimpressive, but it is something that you would use on a daily basis. It was practical and meaningful.

The students in Hufflepuff are generally thought to be boring and unintelligent, but when you look at the Hufflepuffs individually you see that is not true. Pomona Sprout was able to raise mandrakes to help unpetrify students in the second year and she had many ideas on how to fortify the school in the final battle. Cedric Diggory was chosen by the Triwizard Cup as the best representative for the entire Hogwarts school. Nymphadora Tonks was an metamorphmagus, an exceptional auror and very well liked. None of these people seem lame! The only students that were ever described as dumb were Neville Longbottem, Vincent Crab and Gregory Goyle; a Gryffindor and two Slytherins.

So why are Hufflepuffs portrayed as slow? Is being a good person really so looked down upon in our culture? Hufflepuffs are kind and inclusive, and that is enough for them to be laughed at. We never hear much about the Hufflepuff dorms, but they are located on the main floor of the castle, right by the kitchens. I do not know of there is a password or not, but it is supposed to be cheery and welcoming. I would picture it like a larger version of the Burrow. It is a place that you want to spend time in. I really think that there is a lot that we can learn from Hufflepuffs. Maybe they know more than the rest of us! And if everyone followed the values of the Hufflepuffs, Voldemort would never have existed. He may have just remained Tom Riddle!

--

Olivea<3

--

P.S. I am not saying Hufflepuffs are perfect.

Also, for those who asked, I did not draw the picture in the last blog.

Role Model - a person whose behavior, example or success can be emulated by others, especially younger people.

Do you have a role model? I have three! To me, a role model is someone who I can understand, who I can try to be like. They're someone who does amazing things.

My number one Role Model is:
Kandee Johnson.
You may not know who she is, but she's a makeup artist. She has tons of amazing videos on Youtube, and she holds 'Glaminars', or Glam Seminars to teach people how to do makeup. She is amazing. I love, love, love reading her blog. When she's having a bad day, she'll write a blog. Not about how terrible her life is, but how she tries to fix her bad day. How she turns it around to seem good, or how she sees the good. She once wrote a blog about how, years ago, when her dreams were crushed and she was driving away from L.A. with her little boy to live with her parents. She said:
"I remember tears rolling down my face as I drove home to my parents,  I felt like not just my heart was broken, my hope and my dreams were too. (I've felt this way over guys before too, it's not just for dreams either!)
Later I realized that I could've sat among the broken pieces of my dream, looking at each shattered, sharp piece, asking why and letting those broken pieces cut me,  make me bleed and hurt me. That is what we tend to do sometimes, we sit in the middle of our broken-ness, and we keep staying there hurting ourselves even more, instead of gluing the pieces back together to make an amazing mosaic of beauty, to shine more sparkle and love into our future.  I've done this with a broken heart too, I'd sit and only remember the best of times with that person, I'd sit and hold the broken pieces of how I dreamed our life to be. Not realizing that the ones that break our hearts, give us a shattered piece that will shine light on a new path, to find the real one, that will never dare hurt our heart or leave us."
When I read that, I cried. The day I read this, I too felt crushed. Boys, friends, everything just got to me, and I broke down.
But, Kandee is my role model. I want to be a makeup artist. Knowing that someone like her went through all these things, and turned out to be so amazing gives me so much hope for the future.

My Second Role Model is:
Brooke White.
You may remember her from American Idol, the same season with David Archuleta. When I listen to her music, I feel joy. Her album, High Hopes and Heartbreak, is the album of my life. She is an amazing person. She has strength, and hope. She lives life with a smile. I read her blog, (I do a lot of blog reading!), and she wrote about 8th grade, and how much she hated it. She said:
"But it was the experience of loneliness that gave me the opportunity to know that no matter how lonely and hard times may get, I'm never really... alone. And knowing that changes everything..."
I too, have felt alone. Knowing that someone as amazing and beautiful and sucessful as Brooke gives me even more hope, for my future.

My Third Role Model is:
Taylor Swift.
I'm pretty sure you all know who she is. I like her class. (Many of you may be thinking, "She has class? Didn't you see that video with the Joe Jonas doll? Yes, I have.) I'll say it again. She. Has. Class. In this scary world, where people wear clothing, er, underwear, out in public, daily, she wears a dress that reaches her knees. In a world where movie stars go to jail, and disappoint their fans, have you ever heard of her getting a speeding ticket? In fact, have you ever heard of her doing anything that her parents wouldn't approve of? No. Taylor stands tall and true, knowing that her fans brought her where she is. She is gorgeous, smart, and so thankful for everything she gets. I really do believe she is an amazing person.
“In high school my values were all based upon not letting my parents down. And now that this has happened, it’s more like not letting my parents down, not letting that cute 6-year-old that I met yesterday down, not letting her mom down, not letting the 20,000 people I just played a show for down.”

If I could take one thing from each of these girls, I would borrow Kandee's strength, Brooke's love, and Taylor's courage.

Did you ever notice that if an adult tells you to do something and you ask why their answer usually "because I said so and i'm an adult/your mom/your dad"  or "because it's a life long important skill to have."  So my question is if it's so important, why don't they do it?  For example:  mom: "do the dishes" girl: "why?"  mom: "because it's an important skill to have and you will be doing it the rest of your life.  Everyone has to do the dishes at some time.  I had to wash the dishes when i was a kid.  And i still do them."  May i point out that apparently they're not doing the dishes because they're making us do it.  I think that when adults make us kids do something, the reason is because they're tired of doing the dishes because their parents made them do them.  Now, i'm just using the dishes as an example.  Others might be mowing the lawn or vacuming the house.  Please don't comment and say that they had to do all the chores until the kids were old enough to help, but now we have homework (well, not in the summer), social lives and all that jazz.  Sometimes it seems like adults can't ever remember what it's like to be a kid.  Like if I get in a fight with my sister, my dad lectures usually something like this "You need to get along!  You don't have to always be best friends but at least be polite.  You can't control what the other person does but you can control what you do.  Try to control it if you're angry you have to deal your whole life... Blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda."    I bet that my parents wouldn't last a day in my life.  YOu might think i'm being inconsiderate but we still have so much to do, people to connect with.  They say your teenage years are the best of your life, so go and have fun.  BUT WE CAN'T HAVE FUN IF WE'RE DOING CHORES ALL THE TIME.  I guess that the rents do have a right to relax but i really hate it when washing the dishes comes before homework, vaccuming the living room has to be done before lunch, or i'm grounded ect.  I know i'm complaining about this, but it annoys me when some of my friends will complain to me about their aunt or grandparents making them fold their clothes and put them away.  I'm kinda joining the force i'm against right now but some people are so spoiled that they don't know how to do the simplest chores such as washing the dishes, mowing the lawn, or even just putting away their own laundry.  So i guess what i'm saying now is that, as hard as it is to admit it, our parents are usually right.  The people who don't learn how to do chores because their parents do them for them or they have a cleaning lady ect, are really going to be in trouble when they move out.  Okay, that's all, i guess. ---Lana---

Fight Back! Yeah I said it. Fight back for what you think is right. If there is something going on, do something about it. If someone is hurt or in need of help, do something about it. Why? Because people out there, whether or not they think they need it or don't, they do. So help those people out and make a difference, because if you make a difference, WE make a difference. Thats what the adults are trying to teach us, thats what they want from us. Respect and Effort (RE). REdo things to improve. REthink of ways to make things better for us. REplenish an education that will help others learn from their mistakes and achieve "greatness", and REmember what you have learned...because you have just became either America's role model, or everybody's heart. Because when our hearts stop beating is when we stop making a difference.

Make a difference and RE-live our way of life...

Hey, girls! It's Susan. I was lucky enough to be chosen to do a conference call with JoAnna Garcia, who plays Parker Walt in the new ABC Family movie Revenge of the Bridesmaids. JoAnna is a sweet, fun-loving, down-to-earth, genuine girl who says that she loves to have fun! She also remarks that acting is and always will be her passion. I had such a great time talking to JoAnna. She is well known for the character she played on the hit TV show Reba, Cheyenne Montgomery, from 2001 until 2007. JoAnna has guest starred on shows such as What I Like About You, Gossip Girl, and many more. Also, she has played fun roles in the movies American Pie 2, Not Another Teen Movie, and, as I said before, MANY more!! :) Anyway, I had loads of fun interviewing her, hearing what other reporters were asking, and listening to her very detailed answers.

So, now that I've kept you long enough, lets get started!

The first question I decided to ask JoAnna was, "Would you mind describing some of the characters from Revenge of the Bridesmaids?"

JoAnna said "no problem," and this was her description of the characters.

Parker is sort of a struggling actress, a little bit sarcastic, a little jaded if you will by her life experience.

Abigail is a wisecracking, fast talking writer, and they're the best of friends.

Then you have sweet Rachel, that, really, the best way to describe her, is just so sweet.  It's to her detriment how sweet she is.

And then you get Caitlin.  Caitlin is “me, me, me,” fantastically, deliciously villainous.

One of JoAnna's favorite characters is Caitlin’s mother, played by Beth Broderick.  She is a cougar, a gorgeous little minx who would stop at no end to keep her mansion and her livelihood intact.

The next question I wanted to ask JoAnna was, "Do you have any advice for girls who would like to pursue acting?", because her tips could help some of the soon-to-be actresses of Allykatzz! :)

Anyway, JoAnna said that she has lots of advice. She even said that she didn't know where to begin!! But, she eventually realized what comes first. JoAnna says that the most important advice that she could give is to commit and know that show business is filled with ups and downs,  make sure that you listen to your instincts, put yourself with the right people, and never give up.  There isn't an actor that is "successful" that doesn't have bumps in the road and have been kicked in the teeth.  You sort of have to bind together. JoAnna says that her actor friends are people that she relies on so much, because they are in the same business
.  You have to stick together and just be in it for the long haul.  If you really want to do it, it takes a lot of determination.  And be good and don't get into trouble.  That's the other thing, she says. It's so easy to get caught up in all the chaos that our kind of world brings.  And, last but not least, "Just to stick your nose to the grindstone and just keep on it and never give up, that's the way to go," says JoAnna.

Aren't those some great and detailed answers?

Now, it's question time! :)

Are you going to watch JoAnna Garcia and Raven Symone in Revenge of the Bridesmaids?

Which character in Revenge of the Bridesmaids do you think will be your favorite, judging by their descriptions?

Do you think JoAnna's advice for budding actresses will help girls who would like to pursue acting?

Do you have a special talent or hobby?

What is it?

Tell me here! :)

And, if you want toread the ENTIRE conference call, just send me a shout-out or a backatcha. Also, remember to

A Miss America contestant who suffers from a disease that led to complete baldness is out to prove that beauty comes in many packages.

Kayla Martell, who recently won the title of Miss Delaware 2010, suffers from Alopecia Areata, an autoimmune disease that led to complete hair loss when she was a child. Martell, now 21, was diagnosed with the disease in the fifth grade. But in spite of her disease, Martell went on to compete in the Miss Delaware pageant four times before taking the title home in 2010. While she has previously competed both with a wig and without, this year she decided to wear a blond wig. “It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” she told Gretchen Carlson in an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday. “As you know, Miss America needs to be someone who’s relatable and approachable and I think that helped me to fit the needs of the job.” Martell plans to use her platform to raise awareness for Alopecia Areata, which afflicts more than four million Americans and two percent of the world’s population. “I hope to show people that beauty comes in all different kinds of packages,” she said. “No beauty queen should fit into a box and look like a Barbie every time they wake up and none of us do, as you know. So I hope to show people that you are beautiful and whatever makes you different, you should embrace it.” But Martell adds that she does not want to be judged only for her disease. “I think every contestant just wants to be judged on their character and judged by the ability to perform the duties of the job of Miss America,” she said. “And I hope that the judges can focus on what I have to offer for the program and what I can bring to the table for Miss America.”

Personally, I think that Kayla Martell is an amazing and inspiring person and I believethat she is a great role model for any girl, any age. I feel love of the fact that Kayla M. said, and I quote, “I hope to show people that beauty comes in all different kinds of packages." It is completely true. So show Kayla some respect and love yourself! :)

What doyou think of Kayla Martell? What doyou believe Kayla is trying to do? What doyou feel is her goal?Express yourself andvent your feelings here!

Sending you lots of love from an AK Reporter,

Susan

P.S. Have you ever heard of the disease, Alopecia Areata?
