Hey everyone! The Tween Summit is just three months away~~!!! how exciting! are you going ?  This year is in NYC! (awsome chice) but last year it was in Washington DC ( great start!) Did you go? I went and it was so much fun! We had so many activities , and guests that came and talked to us about themselves but mainly about US! because they wanted US to make a difference. We even go to enjoy an awesome concert with the performances of WOW , BROOKE WHITE, COMIC BOOK HEROES AND MORE!

Debby Ryan came as well and it was nice to see how inspired she was by us. This year will be bigger and better, and hopefully new stars come to talk to us about their experiences and accomplishments ! :)

Hey girls!

I know that for girls going, or wanting to go to the Tween Summit, money is a big issue. The good news is that you don't have to tough it alone! Local companies, especially ones that support girl power in your community might be willing to help you out! If you have the perfect company in mind, that's great! The best way to approch them would probably be to write a letter, and talk to someone in that company that could sponser you. Sponsering is basically giving you money or other supplies you might need to do something. If you want to send a letter or e-mail, this is a great sample format!

Dear ___________, On October 10, 2009 AK Tweens will host the First Ever Tween Girl Summit in Washington DC. Three hundred girls ages 9-14 will gather together to discuss important global issues and topics that matter most to us. We're going to speak up ad be heard; we're going to take action to change our world. Girls Talk. Adults Listen. That's Change! I really want my voice to be heard at the First Ever Tween Girl Summit. I want to represent my city and state/province! And that's why I need your support. Thanks to national sponsors, such as EA Games, the Tween Summit is free to attend, I just need to raise enough money to cover transportation and housing expenses for myself and my parent/chaperone. I've done the math, and the research, and I will need to raise _______ to get to Washington DC. At the First Ever Tween Girl Summit, I will participate in discussions about tween role models, self-esteem, online safety and more. We'll even make a video for President Obama, letting him know we've heard his call for community activism and we're ready to help. Personally, the issues that matter most to me are ______________ and _________________. We're even inviting Mrs. Obama and her daughters to attend! I would love the opportunity to talk about these issues with my peers, experts, politicians and marketers at the Summit, in hopes of contributing to positive change in our community and our country.
